Andrew Kemmetmueller, a 17-year aviation industry veteran, has joined AAR as chief digital officer at the Wood Dale, Illinois-based aviation aftermarket services provider.
He will report directly to AAR President and Chief Operating officer John Holmes, the company said Thursday.
Holmes said that Kemmetmueller will help drive the firm’s digital services vision with his aviation and digital experience.
“Digitization is a new opportunity for AAR to partner with customers on innovations that create operational efficiencies and deliver more value,” Kemmetmueller noted.
Kemmetmueller most recently served as vice president for aviation at Uptake and led the development of in-flight operations, maintenance and scheduling systems there.
He also held various positions at AvIntel Consulting, Gogo, Allegiant Systems, ARINC, Opti-Fi Networks, Telia and Lotus Trade.
He penned two books on aviation and served as a speaker for topics regarding the industry.
