The U.S. Air Force is inviting senior technical professionals from the commercial and academic sectors to participate in an upcoming two-day workshop that will tackle advancements and challenges in the nuclear command, control and communications domain.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Dec. 6 says the 2018 Nuclear Command, Control and Communications Concept and Challenges Workshop will take place at the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Jan. 23 and 34.
The service branch aims to facilitate exchange of ideas between the Air Force Global Strike Command and other military, industry and academic partners about potential NC3 technology options through the workshop.
USAF noted it believes that such discussions could help shape non-Defense Department investments and bring innovations to DoD’s modernization efforts related to NC3.
The first day of the workshop will cover NC3 status and modernization briefings and National Leader Command Capability presentations
The second day will feature multiple one-one-one sessions between government representatives and industry participants.
