Boeing has received a $40.6 million modification under a U.S. Air Force contract to provide mod 7 wafer instrumentation support kits for the service branch’s flight test of the Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile system.
The company will deliver the kits to support the Minuteman force development evaluation program at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
DoD noted that contract work will run through May 11, 2022, and take place at Boeing Defense, Space and Security facility in Layton, Utah.
The Air Force is obligating fiscal 2016 and 2017 missile procurement funds at the time of award.
Minuteman is an element of U.S. strategic deterrent forces managed by the Air Force Global Strike Command and built to defend against attacks.
