Raytheon has received a $22.2 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to deliver software and hardware components needed for a ground power and cooling system of the service branch’s Next Generation Jammer platform.
The Defense Department said Thursday the modification covers the delivery of five ground power carts, five ground power kits, five ground cooling carts, five ground cooling kits, 12 common electronic unit connector kits, and four test access module kits.
Raytheon will perform 97.4 percent of work in California, and the rest in Indiana and Texas, through December 2019.
The Next Generation Jammer is designed to integrate beam-jamming tools and solid-state electronics and intended to replace the ALQ-99 jammers currently installed on the Navy’s EA-18G airborne electronic attack aircraft.
