Raytheon has received a potential $59.7 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide support equipment and services for the service branch’s Enhanced Paveway II laser-guided bombs.
The Defense Department said Wednesday the company’s missile systems business will perform work under the sole-source contract in Tucson, Arizona through Feb. 28, 2019.
Modern variants of the Raytheon-built Paveway bomb technology employ global positioning and inertial navigation systems designed to support tactical air-to-ground warfare missions.
The Air Force obligated the full contract amount at the time of award from its fiscal 2016 and 2018 procurement funds.
