The U.S. Marine Corps has asked industry to provide information on the availability of shore-based technology built to deliver precision kinetic fires against ships at a range of at least 80 miles.
In a FedBizOpps notice posted Oct. 27, USMC said it prefers coastal defense systems the service branch’s deployable and mobile forces could use for expeditionary missions.
The branch also requires systems that will work to integrate with command and control, weapons and surveillance platforms of U.S. and its partner nations.
USMC envisions a complete coastal defense platform consisting a C2 center; a surveillance and over-the-horizon target acquisition technology; and a kinetic launch system.
Responses to the request for information are due Nov. 30.
