Louis Berger has secured a $1.7 million contract to manage the construction of a two-lane bridge designed to link Cameroon and Nigeria.
The company said Thursday the project will use a balanced cantilever method to build a box girder bridge over the Cross River between Ekok, Cameroon and Mfum, Nigeria.
Louis Berger will also provide bridge construction management training and assist the Project Implementation Unit and Road Sector Development Team of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing as well as the African Development Bank Group project unit of Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Works.
The contract has a base performance period of 18 months and a defects liability period of 12 months.
The project is part of the Program for Transport Facilitation for the Bamenda-Enugu corridor financed via a joint loan under the African Development Fund and a grant to the Economic Community of West African States.
