LexisNexis has added data from the Defense Department Boards for the Correction of Military Records to its online research tool in a move to provide veterans and their advocates with access military record change information from all the military branches.
The company said Thursday its Pro Bono Task Force added the information to Lexis Advance to help military veterans access data using a searchable database.
Kermit Lowry, vice president of legal activities at LexisNexis’ North American legal research solutions unit, said the company looks to offer tools and resources that can help veterans and representatives gain access to healthcare services.
LexisNexis added content on more than 127,000 DoD military record decisions and changes including individual military records and discharge status of U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy service members that occurred between 2008 and the present.
