IAP Worldwide Services has received a one-year, $58.9 million option under a contract with the U.S. Navy to provide logistics services for the service branch’s E-6B command post and communications aircraft.
The Defense Department said Monday the company will its extend logistics and maintenance support for the Boeing-built aircraft’s equipment, weapon systems, associated support facilities and supporting parties.
E-6BÂ is designed to function as a communications relay for ballistic missile submarines and airborne command post for U.S. strategic forces, according to the Navy.
IAP will perform work in Oklahoma, Maryland, Nebraska and California.
The Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity and the service branch obligated $15.8 million in fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
