General Dynamics has been awarded a $44.3 million contract modification to provide planning yard services for the U.S. Navy‘s guided missile destroyers and frigates.
The Navy exercised an option under a previously awarded contract for the company to support integrated planning yard efforts for Arleigh Burke-class and Oliver Hazard Perry-class vessels, the Defense Department said Friday.
DoD noted the obligated amount of $387,775 at the time of award is from the service branch’s fiscal 2018 Navy operations and maintenance funds.
General Dynamics’ Bath Iron Works subsidiary will perform work under the exercised option at a company shipyard in Maine through June 2018.
