The Drug Enforcement Administration wants information on potential vendors that can provide a laboratory information management system.
DEA said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday it seeks an LIMS platform to modernize, streamline and manage all processes related to the handling of drug evidence at DEA laboratories.
The agency wants a commercial off-the-shelf software product that can support the technical modernization of various functions within the DEA laboratories, such as the capacity to receive, analyze, document, report, inventory, transfer and destroy drug-related evidence.
The COTS software should also aid DEA laboratories’ compliance with the American Society of Crime Lab Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board standards, according to the notice.
Interested businesses should be able to offer hardware or software infrastructure and configurations that align with DEA’s technological infrastructure.
Proposed platforms should also secure sensitive but unclassified information; operate with zero footprint on DEA; and support enterprise-wide operations, among other requirements.
Responses to the notice are due Dec. 1.
