Boeing has awarded Aircraft Philipp Group GmbH a five-year contract to produce machine parts for the global H-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter fleet as part of the former’s Germany-based supplier base.
Boeing said Friday it also launched a training workshop in May to familiarize members of the German industry with the company’s source selection and bid processes as part of efforts to expand Boeing’s supplier base in the country.
“Our cooperation with Aircraft Philipp is indicative of the specialized capabilities of German industry,” said Michael Hostetter, director of vertical lift programs in Germany at Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
“With the recent opening of the expanded Boeing Research Office in Munich, we are investing in the development of innovative and efficient materials and production technologies together with partners in Bavaria and across Germany,” said Michael Haidinger, managing director of Boeing in Germany, Central and Eastern Europe.
Boeing noted it also works to establish additional partnerships with members of the German industry for the Schwerer Transporthubschrauber heavy transport helicopter competition.
