Amazon Web Services has obtained provisional Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification from the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board to offer 20 cloud services to government agencies.
AWS said Monday the new provisional authority-to-operate at the “Moderate” baseline will centralize the maintenance for the P-ATO of 10 AWS services that are previously authorized and add 10 new services to the company’s FedRAMP program.
Government customers can use the P-ATO as a baseline for their own certifications and rely on JAB for centralized continuous monitoring and updates, AWS added.
AWS partners that build their cloud platforms on AWS’ U.S. east and west regions can also secure their own FedRAMP JAB P-ATOs for their platform as-a-service and software as-a-service offerings, the company noted.
