Science Applications International Corp. has received a potential five-year, $43 million task order from the Agriculture Department to provide web application maintenance and development support services for USDA’s Farm Service Agency.
SAIC said Tuesday it will perform work in Kansas City, Missouri, under the task order that has a base term of one year and four option years.
“SAIC is proud to have been selected to continue to provide USDA FSA with support services that help to facilitate critical environmental programs,†said Bob Genter, senior vice president of SAIC’s federal civilian customer group.
Genter added the company will continue to support FSA as the agency oversees several conservation-related initiatives that seek to reduce soil erosion, improve water quality and preserve wildlife habitat.
The contract covers systems development, application authorization and assessment, disaster recovery and production services in support of FSA’s conservation programs.
Some of the FSA-managed environmental initiatives include the Conservation Reserve Program, Farmable Wetlands Program and Emergency Forestry Restoration Program.
