Thales has extended the capability of its encryption tool in an effort to support secure deployments of Red Hat’s OpenShift Container Platform.
Thales said Thursday its Vormetric Transparent Encryption is designed to provide access control, encryption and data access logging support to help users comply with best practices and regulatory requirements for data protection.
The encryption tool has been supporting Docker container environments and works to restrict access to sensitive data to authorized processes and containers.
Vormetric Transparent Encryption also has a container security extension function that works to encrypt and control data access by policy, isolate data in DevOps environments and separate data from administrators and other containers through shared storage.
The OpenShift Container Platform from Red Hat works to help information technology and application development teams accelerate the development and deployment of apps across private cloud, on-premise and hybrid cloud environments.
Peter Galvin, vice president of strategy at Thales eSecurity, said the company’s encryption platform aims to help organizations implement security policies across multi-tenant cloud, virtual and container environments.
