Orbital ATK is scheduled to launch Planet‘s Earth imaging satellites at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Tuesday at 2:37 p.m. Pacific time.
Orbital ATK said Monday its Minotaur C rocket will carry a total of 10 SkySat and Dove remote sensing satellites, which will work to collect medium- and high-resolution multispectral Earth imagery for commercial customers.
The SkySat constellation currently consists of seven satellites and will be expanded to include 13 spacecraft.
Dove and SkySat satellite networks are designed to deliver a global information feed to businesses, governments and non-government organizations worldwide.
Orbital ATK’s Minotaur C rocket works to deploy payloads up to 3,500 pounds and is an all-commercial variant of the Minotaur launch vehicle line for government and commercial clients.
