DHS Taps Heilig Defense for Finance Sector Cybersecurity Grant - top government contractors - best government contracting eventHeilig Defense has received a $67,152 grant from the Department of Homeland Security‘s science and technology directorate to help strengthen the cybersecurity of financial institutions with a company-built technology.

DHS said Tuesday the company will further develop its Memory Sentry platform designed to guard applications against memory-safety bugs.

Eric Harder, program manager for DHS S&T’s Next Generation Cyber Infrastructure Apex program, said he believes Heilig Defense’s technology has potential to prevent unauthorized access to system data and secure critical infrastructure.

The grant was issued through the Financial Services Cyber Security Active Defense solicitation under other transaction authority of DHS’ Silicon Valley Innovation Program.

Philadelphia-based Heilig Defense develops methods and tools to help organizations detect, mitigate and recover from malicious threats.
