Dell Technologies‘ Virtustream business will co-locate enterprise cloud services in a Northern Virgina-based Iron Mountain data center under an expanded partnership between the two companies.
Virtustream selected the Northern Virginia-based facility based on its security, scalability and compliance with FISMA High, HIPAA, PCI-DSS Level 1, SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3 and ISO 27001 requirements, Iron Mountain said Thursday.
“We’ve long had great respect for Iron Mountain and throughout the vetting process, it was clear that their Virginia data center campus was an ideal environment for our regulated customer base and sustained platform growth projections,” said Mike Evans, senior vice president of customer care and cloud operations at Virtustream.
Mark Kidd, SVP and general manager of Iron Mountain’s data centers business, said that pre-leasing activity in the region reflects the company’s investment, offerings and go-to-market strategy in the data center market.
Virtustream offers xStream management and infrastructure-as-a-service platforms designed to help clients manage applications in private, public and hybrid cloud environments.
Iron Mountain uses Virtustream software platforms to orchestrate, secure and automate cloud-based storage services.
