UK Consortium Updates Counter-UAV System to Support Military & Commercial Vehicle Deployment - top government contractors - best government contracting eventA team of three U.K.-based defense companies has updated its counter-unmanned aerial vehicle defense platform to support installation on military trucks and commercial surveillance vehicles.

The Anti-UAV Defense System — built by Blighter Surveillance Systems, Chess Dynamics and Enterprise Control Systems — works to detect, track, identify and defeat UAVs up to six miles away in approximately 15 seconds, Blighter said Thursday.

AUDS obtained technology readiness level 9 status in January following its deployment with the U.S. military.

The counter-UAV system is currently available in three versions that support fielding on rooftops, forward operating bases and fixed infrastructures such as borders.

The industry team also works on algorithms and techniques to optimize AUDS’ capacity to mitigate drone swarm attacks.

Colin Bullock, CEO of Enterprise Control Systems, said AUDS engineers upgraded the platform’s radio frequency inhibitor functions in an effort to disrupt new long-range, fixed-winged UAVs that appeared over the past year.
