Raytheon Taps Ducommun to Produce Fire Control Components for Long-Range Missile Tech - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon has teamed up with Ducommun to develop fire control platforms for the Naval Strike Missile designed for integration with U.S. Navy frigates and littoral combat ships.

Production work on the fire control systems is slated to commence later this year at Ducommun’s facilities in Huntsville and Berryville in Arkansas, Raytheon said Monday.

NSM is a long-range, anti-ship missile that works to provide naval vessels strike capability against maritime- and ground-based targets.

The partnership with Ducommun came nearly three months after Raytheon forged an alliance with Kongsberg Grupen to offer NSM to the service branch and set up a supplier and manufacturing team to facilitate the production of the weapon system in the U.S.

Mike Jarrett, vice president of Raytheon’s air warfare systems business, said the move to produce NSM systems in the U.S. would help support the Navy, the country’s warfighters and manufacturing jobs.
