Raytheon BBN to Produce Wearable Shooter Detection Systems for Gulf Country - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon‘s BBN Technologies subsidiary has received a $10 million order to manufacture soldier wearable shooter detection systems for an unidentified Gulf country.

BBN Technologies aims to deliver 2,000 Boomerang Warrior-X units to the customer over the next 12 months, Raytheon said Thursday.

Boomerang is designed to help warfighters gain situational awareness of hostile fires or sniper attacks and provide shooter grid coordinates to military unit leaders.

The system works to process and transmit grid coordinates of incoming shots via a built-in speaker or earpiece as well as show information on the range and azimuth of a shooter’s position on a lightweight display.
