The U.S. Air Force has awarded Lockheed Martin a potential eight-year, $60.5 million contract to perform wing durability test on the company-built C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
Lockheed will carry out test preparation, test operations, residual strength test, test teardown and inspection, outer wing test and technical data delivery under the sole-source contract, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
Work will occur at a company facility in Marietta, Georgia, through Sept. 26, 2025.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $16.4 million at the time of award from the service branch’s fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds and Canadian government funds.
