IBM has collaborated with the Corsham Institute and SaluteMyJob to facilitate a week-long cybersecurity course designed for transitioning and former U.K. military personnel.
The free course is part of IBM’s Veterans Employment Accelerator program that offers veterans cybersecurity software training, certification and job opportunities, the company said Wednesday.
“With the right training and investment, hiring veterans can help with the huge challenge of closing the cybersecurity skills gap,” said Julian Meyrick, vice president of IBM’s security business in Europe.
IBM helps finance and offers trainer and software for the course, while Corsham Institute offers its facility in South West England and SaluteMyJob recruits eligible participants across the veteran community.
The technology company noted that 100 participating veterans were trained on the QRadar security platform and scheduled to complete the course Friday.
The next course is slated to run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 and will focus on data analysis software i2 Analyst’s Notebook, IBM added.
