Forcepoint has formed a partnership with Raytheon’s cyber services business, GigaTrust and Internet Content Management to deliver a platform designed to help suppliers comply with a Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement that requires vendors to standardize security systems and methods to safeguard controlled unclassified information and defense data.
Forcepoint said Wednesday its cybersecurity platform works to help Defense Department suppliers comply with the DFARS National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-171 policy within five days as well as address security standards across 14 policy control areas that include incident response, access control and risk assessment.
Suppliers have until Dec. 31 to comply with the NIST policy.
The NIST SP 800-171Â platform also includes Forcepoint-built security tools such as Data Loss Prevention and Next-Generation Firewall offerings.
“Securing the global supply chain is essential to our national security and economic prosperity,†said Tim Solms, senior vice president and general manager of Forcepoint’s global governments business.
Solms added that Forcepoint and its partners will work to help government contractors comply with the NIST SP 800-171 requirement ahead of the year-end deadline.
Austin, Texas-based Forcepoint is a cybersecurity joint venture of Raytheon and technology investment firm Vista Equity Partners.
