Elbit Systems has released a tracking system for dismounted soldiers, first responders and special forces to gain situational awareness in places with poor or no access to GPS signal.
SmarTrack is built with radio frequency technology that will work to help commanders locate and track force members in GPS-denied indoor, underground or urban areas, Elbit Systems said Thursday.
The less than 0.33-pound device works to generate three-dimensional locations and features a data link designed to transmit command and control data between force members.
Elbit Systems developed SmarTrack as part of the company’s Dominator suite of C2 platforms designed for dismounted military personnel.
The company will showcase the device at the Defence & Security Equipment International exhibition in London.
