A. West Enterprise has won a two-year, $15 million contract to construct an underground power distribution system and update airfield lighting at the Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.
The company said Friday it will design and build airlighting for the base’s four major runways, remove overhead electrical wires and repair circuit 1 system controls as the electrical contractor of the project.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers received eight bids for the contract.
The project will require more than 100,000 man hours and is scheduled to begin in January.
A. West also secured a contract to support SpaceX launch pad upgrades at a NASA facility.
The Albany, Georgia-based company offers high-voltage cable and transformer replacement, pad mount switches, man hole installation, overhead distribution, high-voltage cable testing and generator installation services to federal government and military customers.
