Serco Inc., the British contractor’s North American subsidiary, has received a potential $7 million contract to support traffic management operations at the Austin-based Combined Transportation Emergency & Communications Center.
The company will manage CTECC for the Texas Department of Transportation, Austin District, under the contract that has one base year along with three one-year options, Serco said Thursday.
“We have a team in place who recognizes the importance of safety to the district’s travelers and are standing by ready to serve,” said Serco Inc. Chairman and CEO Dave Dacquino.
TxDOT asked the company to support the center in efforts to identify incidents, coordinate emergency response operations and address roadway congestion within the department’s Austin District.
Serco Inc.’s transportation segment provides intelligent transportation system, air traffic control, rail operations and maintenance, fleet management and parking enforcement services to government customers.
