Raghu Rau, a 16-year veteran of telecommunications firm Motorola, has been elected to chair the board of directors at data management and storage company Quantum.
He will succeed Paul Auvil, who will remain with the company as a board member, Quantum said Monday.
Rau previously led SeaChange International as CEO and held various leadership roles at Motorola such as senior vice president of mobile video solutions; corporate vice president of global marketing and strategy; and vice president of strategic business planning.
San Jose, California-based Quantum intends to re-establish its Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee that will include Rau, Clifford Press and Alex Pinchev.
Quantum also signed a letter of intent to engage business advisory firm AlixPartners in financial improvement efforts.
