Thomas Woteki, senior vice president of technology at Maximus, has been chosen to provide guidance and support as a member of the roundtable advisory board for the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University’s College of Science, the company said Tuesday.
The advisory board consists of senior-level professionals who support the Virginia Tech college and its eight departments, the School of Neuroscience and the Academy of Integrated Science on strategic and programmatic matters.
Woteki will serve as an adviser to College of Science Dean Sally Morton and help identify up-and-coming technologies in industry in efforts to build on the college’s academic capabilities, Maximus said.
Woteki holds a doctoral degree in statistics and a master’s degree in mathematics from Virginia Tech.
He has experience in systems engineering and integration as well as software development and is a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Computing Technology Industry Association, Professional Services Council and American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council.
He previously worked at Acentia as chief technology officer before its acquisition by Maximus and also helped launch Cisco Systems‘ healthcare solutions business.
