Lockheed Martin‘s rotary mission and systems unit has received a potential $46.7 million contract to develop and produce a digital receiver exciter for the U.S. Marine Corps‘ AN/TPS-59A(V)3 radar system.
USMC allocated $25.2 million in fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award and $130,000 of the obligated amount will expire at the end of the current fiscal year, the Defense Department said Thursday.
Work will occur in New York, Georgia and Florida through Jan. 31, 2021.
AN/TPS-59 is a ground-based surveillance radar built to help military users detect and track tactical ballistic missiles over a long distance.
