DLT Solutions and Hortonworks have teamed up to expand the adoption of open source-based analytics platforms designed to help federal agencies and other public sector institutions perform data analysis and management operations.
DLT said Wednesday it will collaborate with Hortonworks to provide open data platforms that will work to provide actionable intelligence support to agencies without the lock-in arrangement with vendors and proprietary products.
“Public sector leaders are facing an uphill battle when it comes to managing data,†said Shaun Bierweiler, vice president of U.S. public sector at Hortonworks.
“Leveraging enterprise open source solutions can help agencies close this gap and meet today’s needs – whether that’s analyzing warfighter data or building Smart Cities – while also planning for tomorrow’s challenges,†Bierweiler added.
The partnership came a day after DLT launched a new big data and analytics platform – AnalyticsStack – designed to help agencies analyze and derive insights from disparate and unstructured data sources as well as facilitate digital transformation efforts.
Hortonworks backs the open source-based Spark and Apache Hadoop processing capabilities that support the layers of DLT’s AnalyticsStack platform.
