Boeing has secured a $59.4 million task order to provide engineering sustainment services for the U.S. Air Force‘s fleet of B-52 bomber aircraft.
The Defense Department said Tuesday the service branch will finance the order with its fiscal year 2017 funds for the B-52 Long Range Standoff Program.
B-52 bombers are designed to provide nuclear and conventional global strike support for U.S. and allied forces.
Work will occur in multiple locations through Dec. 31, 2019.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is the contracting activity and will obligate $5 million in FY 2017 research and development funds.
