Amazon Web Services has launched an online marketplace in the company’s GovCloud U.S. region to help independent software vendors customize, maintain and update products for government clients that require regulatory compliance.
The new AWS Marketplace is designed to also help customer agencies at the federal, state, and local levels to identify and procure software that can support regulated workloads, AWS said Thursday.
AWS added that customers have an opportunity to deploy more than 589 products into the AWS GovCloud U.S. region as well as utilize free trial software products through the marketplace.
Agencies and other subscribers that work on behalf of the government can also use AWS Marketplace to view all products available in the region and launch selected Amazon Machine Images, the company noted.
The marketplace also works to help users deploy offerings directly from the GovCloud region via the EC2 console.
