Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of space systems segment at Lockheed Martin, will receive the Peter B. Teets Award from the National Defense Industrial Association in recognition of his contribution to the space systems sector, the Denver Post reported Thursday.
NDIA’s space division will present the award to Ambrose during the awards dinner event to be held on Aug. 1 in Chantilly, Virginia, the association said.
NDIA will also recognize Lt. Gen. Samuel Greaves, director of the Missile Defense Agency, in the public sector category.
Ambrose has been with Lockheed for more than three decades and oversees a $9.4 billion business segment with approximately 18,000 employees that provide missile defense, satellite platforms and other technology offerings for government and commercial clients.
He is chairman of the board of directors of United Launch Alliance and a board member of the Space Foundation.
Ambrose, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, held senior leadership roles at Raytheon and Hughes Network Systems.
