General Dynamics‘ ordnance and tactical systems business has received a $59.8 million contract modification from the U.S. Army to supply Hydra rockets and motors to Afghanistan under a foreign military sales agreement.
The Defense Department said Thursday the modification covers the delivery of 38,496 M151;Â 458 M229;Â 49,728 M274; and 1,200 M278 units along with MK66 MOD4 20,871 motors.
Hydra-70 rockets feature unitary and cargo warheads designed to engage point and area targets in the battlefield.
DoD noted the Army Contracting Command obligated the full modification amount at the time of award from the service branch’s fiscal years 2010, 2015, 2016 and 2017 “other” funds.
General Dynamics OTS will perform work in Williston, Vermont, through Dec. 31, 2019.
