Ian King, former CEO of British defense contractor BAE Systems, has joined Gleacher Shacklock as a senior adviser to help build up the investment banking firm’s presence in the aerospace and defense sectors.
He has more than 40 years of industry experience that includes leadership of BAE for the past nine years, Gleacher Shacklock said Tuesday.
“I have always held the team at Gleacher Shacklock in the highest regard and am very much looking forward to helping them develop the firm further,” King said.
The A&D sector veteran previously served in operational management and executive positions at Marconi and held non-executive and senior independent director roles at Rotork.
He also currently serves a non-executive director at London-based asset management company Schroders.
