Battelle has changed the structure of its SeeByte subsidiary in an effort to eliminate any issues related with foreign control or ownership and facilitate business collaboration with U.S. government clients on unmanned underwater technologies.
Battelle said Thursday it will directly manage SeeByte’s U.S. business, headquartered in San Diego, as a result of the restructuring effort.
SeeByte Inc. has opened a Boston, Massachusetts-based office to provide support services to current and new clients and named engineering management professional Chris Sotzing as the office’s technical lead.
“Under the new alignment we’re responding to our customer requests that we provide more opportunity to work with SeeByte’s technologies and capabilities,†Fred Byus, vice president and general manager of Battelle’s mission and defense technologies unit.
Edinburgh, Scotland-based SeeByte develops software platforms designed to manage autonomous underwater sensors, vehicles and related systems for the oil and gas and military sectors.
