Melissa Carson, chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Unisys’ federal systems business, has won the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s 2017 CFO of the Year award in the division/group category in recognition of her contribution to the Washington metropolitan area’s technology industry.
Carson is one of the four executives who were recognized at NVTC’s 21st Annual Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards held Monday at The Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, Virginia, NVTC said Tuesday.
Carson was responsible for the implementation of a shared services framework for project control, financial analysis and transaction processing operations as part of Unisys Federal Systems’ financial transformation program.
Other CFO award recipients include:
- Cynthia Russo of Cvent for the Private Company CFO of the Year award
- Jim Murphy of Greensmith Energy Management Systems for Emerging Growth CFO of the Year award.
- Paul Saleh of DXC Technology for the Public Company CFO of the Year award
The council posthumously awarded the Michael G. Devine Hall of Fame recognition to Harry Weller of New Enterprise Associates and Greg Kuykendall of EY.
