Praveen Asthana, former senior vice president at Oracle, has joined cybersecurity company Forcepoint as chief marketing officer.

Forcepoint said  Monday Asthana will oversee global marketing for the company and its four business areas including cloud security, network security, global governments and data and insider threat security.

Asthana will also report to Forcepoint CEO Matthew Moynahan and support the company’s efforts to deliver human-centric security systems.

At Oracle, Asthana was responsible for product management and strategy and served as a market leader for the company’s cloud portfolio.

The 25-year technology marketing and management veteran also served as CMO at cloud service provider Gravitant before it was acquired by IBM in 2015.

Asthana worked for almost a decade at Dell as vice president and general manager of the enterprise solutions group as well as marketing VP of the company’s storage and networking division.

Forcepoint hired Asthana as part of a push to expand the company’s executive leadership in the first half of 2017.

The Austin, Texas-based company was establish in 2016 through the combination of Raytheon‘s cyber products arm, Websense and Stonesoft.
