Michael Niggel, CEO of Advanced Concepts and Technologies International, delivered the leadoff remarks in a cybersecurity panel discussion that was part of the 28th U.S.-Japan Defense Technology Forum at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
His speech at the event covered security cooperation efforts between the U.S. and Japan, preparation strategies for potential security threats and security requirements in the Japanese defense sector, ACT I said.
Niggel urged the Japanese government to sponsor an effort similar to the Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot Program that will support the development of the country’s future cyber workforce.
AFA launched the program to provide hands-on training and competitions designed to educate middle and high school students about cybersecurity threats and protocols.
The U.S.-Japan Defense Technology Forum offered networking and collaboration opportunities for government and industry representatives from the U.S. and Japan.
