Tarun Loomba, formerly vice president and general manager of SanDisk‘s computing storage solutions business, has joined communications technology provider Polycom as executive vice president for solutions management.
Polycom said Tuesday the more than 20-year technology industry veteran will oversee the company’s worldwide product and services management teams from its headquarters in San Jose, California.
“His in-depth experience in hardware, software and software analytics will be a great addition as we focus on delivering new products to our partners and customers,” said Polycom CEO Mary McDowell.
Loomba previously served as president of Armanta, chief marketing officer of ParAccel, vice president of marketing and business development at Seagate Technology, senior director of product management and marketing at Cisco Systems and management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in strategy and finance from The Wharton School.
Polycom offers open standards-based unified communications, video and voice conferencing systems to the government, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, education and entertainment industries.
