A Leonardo subsidiary has received an Award for Excellence in Counterintelligence from the Defense Security Service for its efforts to develop methods against foreign theft of U.S. defense technology.
Leonardo DRS has developed techniques to identify malicious communications and worked with other defense contractors to help them implement countermeasures, the company said Wednesday.
“We support the tireless work of the DSS by doing our part, having built a culture that encourages the rapid identification and reporting of incidents and immediate prevention to halt suspicious activity before it succeeds,” said Leonardo DRS CEO William Lynn.
The company received similar recognition from the agency in 2012 and 2014.
DSS recognizes defense companies that support the U.S. intelligence community in efforts to protect data and technology in accordance with government security regulations.
