The Department of Health and Human Services has selected a team composed of Indigenous Technologies and Telos to help operate the Indian Health Service‘s information technology network that supports care services delivery for American Indian and Alaska Native people.
The team will host infrastructure engineering and operations services through a Telos facility in Las Vegas and help IHS implement new network technology, Telos said Wednesday.
The partnership will also maintain the functionality and design of the IHS network as a distributed electronic healthcare information system that facilitates exchange of patient information between the agency and healthcare providers.
“We are deeply honored to support our Native American communities, and expand our partnership with Indigenous Technologies to deliver services in the healthcare market,” said John Wood, chairman and CEO of Telos.
IHS serves as the principal federal health services provider and health advocate of approximately 2.2 million American Indians and Alaska Natives from 567 federally-recognized tribes across the U.S.
