Carey Smith, president of Parsons‘ federal group, will be the keynote speaker at the Groundbreaking Women in Construction conference, scheduled to be held on May 2 in San Francisco.
Parsons said Thursday that Smith will discuss strategies to attract, develop and retain female professionals in the construction industry amid a looming labor shortage during her presentation titled “Challenges & Opportunities for Women.. in a Changing Government Environment.”
“I’m honored to present the industry keynote address at GWIC and represent Parsons, which recognizes the value of employing a diverse workforce,” said Smith, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2017.
GWIC offers networking and professional development opportunities meant to help the construction sector’s female workforce further their career goals and performance and personal growth.
