Leidos has launched a program that offers free legal assistance to U.S. military veterans, community nonprofit groups and underprivileged people.
The company said Tuesday its legal department and General Counsel Vincent Maffeo will oversee the pro bono legal initiative.
Leidos also signed a voluntary statement of commitment through the Pro Bono Institute’s Corporate Pro Bono Challenge.
“Empowering our employees to be active and engaged citizens is integral to our corporate philosophy and culture,” said Maffeo.
He added the company’s participation in the Corporate Pro Bono Challenge reflects its commitment to donate time and resources to the community.
Leidos provided $10,000 to the challenge, including a $5,000 donation to the American Bar Association Veterans Claims Assistance Network, which provides legal support to former service members, active-duty personnel and military lawyers.
