A subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries has secured a potential five-year, $39 million contract to provide engineering, technical, logistics, maintenance, installation and alteration support to the Naval Sea System Command‘s Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division.
HII said Tuesday the contract covers ship alterations, ship change documents, authorized work items, system repairs, operability testing, certification, inspections, fabrication and drawing and technical manual development support.
AMSEC, part of the fleet support group of HII’s technical solutions division, will carry out work for NSWCPD’s cargo and weapons handling division in major home ports across U.S., Canada and Egypt through April 2022.
Work will be performed on U.S. Navy and military sealift command ships such as LHA– and LHD-class amphibious assault ships; LPD-class amphibious transport docks; LSD-class dock landing ships; T-AOE-class fast combat support ships and T-AKE-class dry cargo/ammunition ships.
HII’s technical solutions division was formed through the Virginia-based shipbuilder’s acquisition of Camber Corp. in late 2016.
The division offers fleet maintenance and modernization, network engineering, unmanned technology and rapid prototyping, logistics, nuclear engineering and fabrication, oil and gas engineering, agile software development and training systems support services.
