Jack London, executive chairman of CACI International and a retired U.S. Navy captain, has received recognition from the Naval Historical Foundation for his leadership in efforts to preserve naval history.
The company said Wednesday NHF Chairman William Fallon presented the 2017 Distinguished Service Award to London during the National Maritime Awards Dinner held Tuesday.
“I congratulate Dr. London on his recognition as a patriotic champion of the U.S. Navy’s proud heritage,” said Ken Asbury, president and CEO of CACI and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017.
London, who has served as both an active-duty and reserve officer in the Navy, launched the Captain Samuel Nicholson Naval and Marine Corps History and Leadership Award at the U.S. Naval Academy in 2014.
CACI said the annual award recognizes a graduating midshipman for academic excellence in naval history and leadership traits across the Navy and Marine Corps.
London is a graduate of the Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School and was also the recipient of the latter’s Distinguished Graduate Award in 2011.
