Karen Dahut, an executive vice president and civil commercial group lead at Booz Allen Hamilton, has been nominated to serve on the board of directors of information technology company Tech Data.
Tech Data said Wednesday it will include Dahut’s nomination for the role of independent director in a proxy statement to shareholders.
“Her global leadership experience in next-generation technologies, cybersecurity and data science are an ideal fit for some of Tech Data’s most important strategic initiatives,” said Steve Raymund, chairman of Tetra Tech’s board.
Dahut is a 15-year veteran of Booz Allen and oversees the McLean, Virginia-based contractor’s portfolio of technology, analytics and cyber products and service offerings for the federal civilian and commercial sectors.
She took the position in March 2016 after she previously served as chief innovation officer of the company for four years as well as led its analytics and data science and U.S. Navy businesses.
Before she joined Booz Allen in 2002, she was a Navy officer and comptroller of the service branch’s biomedical research institute.
She is currently also a board member at the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
