Jim Brady, chief operating officer of Grant Thornton, has joined the board of directors at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“As a board member for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, I look forward to helping companies of all sizes create jobs and enhance our economy,” Brady said in a statement released March 7.

Chamber President and CEO Thomas Donohue said Brady brings 35 years of professional services experience and auditing knowledge to the organization.

As Grant Thornton COO, Brady oversees the firm’s national business operations, public policy team and Central and East market areas.

He previously spent 27 years at Deloitte, where he held various roles such as national managing partner of the firm’s U.S. government affairs and public policy business and CEO of its U.S.-India audit and advisory joint venture.

Brady also serves as a board member at the Chautauqua Institution, Graduate Management Admission Council, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Carter Center, World Business Chicago and Wake Forest University.
