Karen Amstutz, chief medical officer of Magellan Health, has joined the coordinating committee of the nonprofit National Quality Forum’s Medicaid Innovator Accelerator Program.
The company said Wednesday Amstutz will work with other committee members to establish measures that drive reforms in state Medicaid programs’ payment and delivery systems to address quality and cost concerns.
The group will focus on programs for substance use disorders, beneficiaries with complex care needs and high costs, community integration and long-term support as well as physical and mental health integration, Magellan added.
“The Medicaid Innovation Accelerator Program will provide timely guidance on measure sets to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services‘ Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services that address these program areas,” said NQF Senior Director Margaret Terry.
